Event Description

Devise to Deliver

How can you or your production company survive in the rapidly changing media landscape?

Doc/Fest and XO Labs, in partnership with Skillset, present ‘Devise to Deliver’ to help you maximise returns from the potential offered by developments in digital technology.

Devise to Deliver is a 6-month, UK-wide training scheme designed for professional filmmakers wishing to broaden their understanding of the possibilities of digital media, including developing multiplatform business skills and embracing new ways to fund, distribute and market films through digital technology.

Devise to Deliver (D2D) is a comprehensive 5-stage programme starting in January 2012 and culminating at a new D2D Market at Sheffield Doc/Fest in June where 10 selected participants will have the opportunity to pitch projects in matchmade meetings in a specially-devised version of MeetMarket.

Other stages of the programme include a 2-day Seize The Future Workshop with international experts Sandi DuBowski and Peter Broderick in Stoke, a 2-day Creative Workshop in Glasgow, and a Market Readiness Workshop in Birmingham.

THE PROGRAMME HAS 5 STAGES OVER 6 MONTHS

Stage 1 - January 2012: 5 half-day Regional Introductory Sessions

For up to 20 people in each location, asking "What do you need to do to create a project that is built for a new type of audience?" and "How do you get it to them?"

The day will end with Pecha Kucha style presentations lasting 2 minutes and feedback lasting 2 minutes, leading towards project selection to go onto the next stages of the programme.

The regional introduction sessions take place in the following locations: Edinburgh (Jan 23rd), Sheffield (Jan 24th) Manchester  (Jan 25th), Bristol (Jan 26th), London (Jan 27th)

Followed by:

Stage 2 - 9th/10th February : Two-day creative workshop in Glasgow

Stage 3 - 23rd/24th February : Two-day Seize The Future Workshop

Stage 4 - 19th/20th March : One 2-day Market-readiness workshop

Stage 5 - 16th June : The inaugural D2D Market at Sheffield Doc/Fest
