Event Description

Scottish Enterprise, Soma Records, Inner Ear and New Media Corps are pleased to announce a free event to support the MOBO Awards coming to
Glasgow. The awards are on Wednesday 30 September but our event will be the afternoon of the day before - on 29 September.

Based on the successful "Soma Skool" events, but targeting a more mature and informed audience, there will be keynote speeches, panel debate, information stalls and software / hardware demonstrations.

As the main panel topic, Northern and Rare Soul music aficianado Stuart Cosgrove will chair the discussion "Where is Scotland's cultural soul in the digital age?", looking at the digital opportunities facing the Scottish music industry, with a focus on how Asian and black communities in Scotland represent Music Of Black Origin.

There will be live music from guitar virtuoso Preston Reed, Punjabi No.1 and others.

Pro audio specialists Mediaspec the supplier of recording, editing and mixing equipment to the music, broadcast and film industries, will be demonstrating some kit you won't see anywhere else!

It would be great to see some 38 Minute members - it's a free event - so please try and come along.

The event is in the HUB ( behind the new BBC building , Pacific Quay) starting at 1pm , on Tuesday 29th September.

If the diverse music, dance and sub-culture mix isn't enough, SE's Lena Wilson, Glasgow: Scotland with style boss Scott Taylor and Paul Bush, chief of EventScotland will also be on hand to say a few choice words.
