Digital innovators - Crossover labs are actively looking for you!

xolabs.co.uk have Creative Labs coming up- time and space away, playing across disciplines, thinking up your next projects, and having creative challenges set by industry mentors.

They're officially past deadline, but they're keen to get more digital people involved so have extended to that group. Email ben@sidf.co.uk if you know anyone that would benefit!

Hi guys

My name is Gawain Morrison & I have a production company in Belfast called Filmtrip. We have just launched our Kickstarter campaign to complete finance for our adult comedy puppet series 'The Beat Hotel Show' and would really appreciate it if you could spread the word far & wide.

Here's our campaign page : http://kck.st/pjmh5k

And we've a competition to win a chance to be a puppet on the show .. all you need to do is enter our mashup competition .. details here : http://www.filmtrip.tv/blog/entry/mashup-competition-for-the-beat-h...

Thanks for your help
All the best
Gawain

Hi Digital Innovators,

"Social Travel - How Can We Disrupt and Improve Travel?"

This is the theme of the event I'm going to be co-hosting an event on Social Travel at Glasgow's Social Media Week on the 22nd September.

If you're interested in any of the following: social media geolocation apps, and the future of travel then do come along!

The event is free but please register interest.

Recommended Listening

I am now seriously going to recommend you streaming* an hour's worth of audio content to your computer/other device. Sandwich at your desk sometime this week?  Here's your entertainment - this is a fascinating story and one which gives a real insight into how digital innovation is working (or not as the case may be) in the USA market.

Check out This American Life's story "When Patents Attack" and prepare to have your mind boggled.

*Streaming because the story is only available as a free download for one week and we've just missed the cut off point.  If you're really keen I believe you can pay for the download but streaming is free.
