Scotland's Creative, Digital & Interactive Industries' low carbon transition

That which is unsustainable cannot go on. Unsustainable things that are propped up too long snap and collapse suddenly. Our way of life is unsustainable. The sooner we transform our economy into one that can generate sustainable prosperity, the better off we’ll be, and with every passing day, the risks of catastrophe grow larger and more certain. We need change now!

In 2011, supported by Scottish Enterprise, we worked with the Creative Industries sector to establish a vision for a carbon zero sector by 2050. That vision has now gone to the Scottish Parliament as part of the 2020 Climate Group's recommendations for Scotland. Keep up to date on that initiative in this group.

Envirodigital helps organisations create truly economically and ecologically sustainable digital developments. We believe that getting digital can facilitate getting greener. Founded in 2008, by Hannah Rudman and Alan Blunt, Envirodigital is a full service change management agency for sustainable digital developments, based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Envirodigital inspires organisations to be greener by "getting" digital. Building sustainable ability by using green IT, and digital solution, ensures that carbon, waste and water outputs are reduced - keys to 21st century resilience. We're about creating steps to get you started and designing change routemaps to get you to your end goals.

One of the digital solutions we're focussing on is webcasting: increased numbers of audience can experience the event without travelling. We’ve developed a widget to calculate the carbon footprint you saved - from not travelling to the event!

What are you doing? Please share examples of organisations using digital to be greener here, and bring up any topics related to this issue - thanks!

Please help: 10 minute survey on the creative sector's response to resource scarcity & climate change
Mission Models Money are currently engaged in a research project called Sustainable Ability which is mapping the current response to climate change and resource scarcity and understanding the practical and behavioural barriers preventing greater breadth and depth of response.

To contribute to this important piece of work, please click here for a link to the survey which takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.

A really important topic: please help! Thanks Envirodigital Groupers.
