Hi,

I'm really a student of design still...but found myself involved in a web site redesign project at the library I work at.

We conducted a survey of the current site design, and find myself with a lot of data, the most useful being the comments.  I've done user testing as well.

Does anyone know of some good books or articles on using survey data to inform strategy or design directions?  How to present results at a meeting?

Thanks for your help; again, fairly new, so hanging on to my hat,

Michael

It may not be a perfect match for your situation, but you should check out Steve Krug's book "Don't make me think". It's about interface design and usability in general, but also touches upon user testing.

Good luck!

Thanks!  Luckily, I work at a design school, in the library, so can just walk downstairs and pick this book up...it's fantastic.

And, the students and faculty provided some great, critical comments...asking design students and faculty about design can lead to some fairly brutal honesty.

We also have a book here, Building design strategy, which was published in 2008, and seems to provide some good chapters on linking design to organizational objectives, which may help interpret results.

Glad to be part of the group!
