That sounds good. You have any ideas on implementing it somewhere on the courses? As for scratch ain't done anything in it for this year we selected pygame so hopefully gain some valuable experience there. Though structures and Algorithims is hard its proving to be an invaluable asset for my coding ability. Looking to gather up some more free time nearer the end of semester so portfolio, portfolio portfolio!!

Hi John, thanks for your note on your wosgamers network regards the SOCCERBET game, looks like your students are too studious (or not gamblers) - changed from my day !
Can you maybe suggest other sites where I could get a review - I'm finding this to be a major obstacle at the moment.
Cheers.
Paul
PS Have a good weekend.

if he has time it would be a great choice - he's working for Denki now so is right in the thick of things

John, that would be absolutely great, just the kind of market feedback I'd be interested in (both good and bad), but please have a go yourself too.
These games are effectively Season 08/09 Editions, I like the idea of new games for next season and the one after etc, plus the evolution (with not a lot of work) of other European league games.
Cheers.

John, thanks for the feedback. This game actually originates from a second year project I did whilst studying Computer Science at Strathclyde back in the early 80's, basically for my end of year project I did a simulation (in Pascal) of the 1982 World Cup finals in Spain.
After that, a league game evolved and here we are now.
Had an original "ugly looking" version of this on the market back in 1991 (Shareware etc), and its been lying dormant in my minds eye until now.
Actually had meeting with two of the bookmakers back then with no take-up, virtual betting has of course since been realised, big time.
There is no real data used, the game is purely based on weighted randomness, ie the team's home and away ratings are crucial when generating a match result.
If you visit the website www.soccerbetgame.com you'll see a Champions League, English Premiership and fantasy British Premiership version available.
All 4 games have their own Leaderboard page and prize fund for the best game submitted (basically you start with £500 and if you can finish the game with £50,000 or more then the game will create a game file which you can then send in) as at end of July. That was where I hoped would be a take-up, ie competing against other folk and trying to win the prize fund.
I think the game is pretty realistic - please have a go at one or more of the demos initially.
Funnily enough I was hoping to appeal to the student market !
What do you think ?
Cheers.

Hi John, I'm looking to share expertise/collaborate with gaming folk, from an IT career in corporate land I've recently completed my new game (for the PC) and website. Keen for any feedback.
Cheers.
