I recall my acoustics Professor defining noise as unwanted sound. Which is which depends on your viewpoint. It is not obvious. Contexts change and lives change. My introduction to jazz was painful: my preferred music these days is jazz.

Watching Jonathan Dimbleby’s otherwise excellent programmes on Russia. He was at a BP base in Siberia when he drew a contrast between the industry there and the oil and gas industry in the UK.

More useful (and free) productivity boosting apps

Picking up on Kieran's "For visual thinkers" post earlier...

I like Doodle for pulling together meetings. (OK, most 38 min'rs will have heard of it, but if I can help just one person today I'll be happy)

Particularly useful if, like me, you work for a bigger organisation with its own mail server, and you need to arrange a meeting with a mix of internal and external people.

Scouts have achieved their Photography badges after taking part in a workshop at Blipfoto.com, the BAFTA award winning photo community.
