FITZGERALD
(shouts)
My name’s Fitzgerald. I like dogs, I hate my family and I like
complaining about perfectly friendly people with other people -
for example, that bitch...
The camera pans over to a pretty, happy woman talking animatedly to someone and then pans back.

Muvizu recently ran a competition in conjunction with the Raindance Film Festival. Entrants were asked to create a short movie animated and created in Muvizu. Things were ticking along nicely, then we received this movie from Matthew Perks. This blew us away; I wanted to share it with you. Matthew made this from scratch over a few nights and, aside from the vocal talent, completed it on his own. I wonder how long it would take a single animator to create this from… Continue
A long time ago when I was a young architecture student I remember being perplexed by criticisms around something called ‘quality of line’. At the time I didn’t really get it. I do now.
Every line we draw has meaning and commitment embedded in it. Especially if that line is drawn by hand and reflects a creative moment in time. But whatever the medium, every line counts. Sometimes a design drawing can fail spectacularly to convey… Continue

Amy Hardie's very personal film is about her deadly dreams. One night, she dreamt her horse, George, was dying. The next day, she found him dead in the field. Later, she dreamt again - this time, her late ex-husband appeared to tell her she had one year to live.
Hardie became obsessed with the idea her next birthday would be her last and despite being a sceptical, hedonistic…Continue
Ever fancied doing something completely different from work for a whole weekend? Well, here's your chance.
Between 29th - 31st Oct, we're running Launch48. The short version of the event is:
On Friday night, people pitch ideas which gets narrowed down to 6. Everyone joins a team.
On Saturday and Sunday morning, the teams build a prototype, the business model, start the marketing drive.
On Sunday night, all 6 teams pitch.

As a design student in Dundee, the plans for the extended V&A Museum coming to our city is an exciting move I await with much anticipation. The people of and around Dundee, including students, councils, designers and the general public are showing the same intrigue - 700 people a day have visited the 'V&A: Making it Happen' Exhibition at… Continue

I came across this title to an article - ‘Moments not Monuments’ (by Craig Martin). Now, I don’t know the article but it’s a great title, and one which has real resonance in the debate about school buildings. The real debate is not iconic versus standardised. The real debate is about schools as monuments versus schools as moments.
Gant charts give us decision points and activity deadlines: turf is cut and steelwork is topped… Continue

I've just released a new touch screen game on Android market and thought I'd do a quick spammy post here.
I dont really want to show up with a pic of the game on the front page. There are worthwhile posts there and this is a sort of advert to publicise the release of a commercial game. If I put in a pic it will shove everything down on the front page but I would have liked to put an image of the game running on here.... Tapulla…Continue

The winners of the Making Space 2010 award were unable to accept the award in person because they are doing good works in Haiti. Instead, these Norwegian student architects sent us a heartfelt video – including a song from the local kids they’re working with.
If I wasn’t already moved by their winning design for a library and orphanage in Thailand, then their personal message did the trick. They reminded me that architecture and… Continue
