All too often I hear about ideas where the success of the project lies in having a large number of users – the usual “and then with all these users it works amazingly like this and that and opens up the potential for so and so”. New media on the terraces

I had been talking to my friend Chris Willshaw after Ewans 4ip presentation at Edinburgh Uni business school last night and had mentioned how essentially a football crowd is a 'Flash Mob' in waiting. Lo and behold today I find that a group of researchers from the University of Glasgow are set to revolutionise football terraces with the help of mobile technology.

4mations offline

Channel 4's fledgling animation site 4mations.tv has been offline since Tuesday while the broadcaster struggles with various "editorial and procedural issues" that have allowed controversial content onto the user-generated animation site.

Sensitive to post-"Sachsgate" criticism, the broadcaster is understood to have pulled the site to remove a handful of clips designed for adult viewers, including a shoot 'em up game called "Mr Mucky" set in a crack den that included S&M imagery… Continue

Hubdub Nominated For Best Social News Site

The Tech Meetup

Last summer, I spent a few months in London and once happened to go along to a small event for techies called the "Hacker Meetup". It was hosted by Ian Hogarth from Songkick (a London based startup) at their office. Gulp - A trojan?

It can be very hard when you are in a team of one. Whatever problems come up there is nobody else to go to for help. You are it!
