Jack of all trades: master of many?



The saying goes: "Jack of all trades, master of none."



In this converged media age, does this statement still ring true? I'm starting to wonder if specialism is a relic of the 20th century. In this industry I have met so many designers who are also animators, artists who are also photographers, writers who are also web developers etc etc.
