I’m a very proactive person who is happy and comfortable in lead positions and well connected in the Digital world in Scotland. I have a very broad range of experience but my passion for Design for Technology Innovation with a specialism in Web 2.0 products, has been at the heart of what I do for over 15 years. I am very people focused and have experience of recruiting and managing remote teams and in creating intensive collaborative environments for product development. I have an extensive CPD resume, which includes Product Marketing classes at MSc level (Dundee), and 2 day-long workshops by Stanford veterans.

I am very happy to take responsibility for representing innovative new projects and businesses which is evident from my work as founder of Girl Geek Scotland, Girl Geek Scotland Workshops, UK Ambassador for Women in Enterprise, Co-ordination of Comms & Social Media at TEDx Glasgow and starting my own company using Open Innovation methods, for educational services, FlockEdu Ltd.

I have over 20 years experience in Education and 10 years experience teaching and research at university level where I played a collaborative role in setting up a programme which brought together design and computing skills. During that time I managed over 100 teams of students developing practical outcomes, towards technology innovation, for web and mobile platforms.  My students regularly swept the board in Enterprise competitions. Under my research role I was Design Lead and part of a core team of 6 investigators who won £1.39M RCUK funding that explored the potential use of QR codes and developed a ‘spin-out’ product “TalesofThings”.
