Startup Weekends have been going on around the world for the last couple of years but until now there has not been one in Scotland. Rookie Oven's Michael Hayes is correcting this on May 25th with the first ever Scottish Startup Weekend being held in Glasgow, (disclosure- we're all volunteers for this non-profit event and I am helping a bit too.)
These events are a great opportunity to meet new people and either take part in helping to build a business pilot over a weekend or to present your idea and have a team work with you to make it happen.
If you are a designer, developer, marketer, project manager, ideas strategist or can contribute in any way then please sign up for the event here. There is a cost to cover all your food, coffee and tea and we encourage you to throw yourself into the whole event by staying through for the full 48 hours. It is amazing what a small team can achieve in a short motivated weekend.
This is about converting an idea into a business and in all past Startup Weekends, projects have gone on to be full businesses. The weekend will be great fun and great experience in a relaxed venue at Entrepreneurial-Spark .
Feel free to email me as well if you want to ask any questions - look forward to seeing you there.
